The storm Irene knocked out power to more than 4.5 million homes and buinesses. Almost everyone in New York was affected by Tropical Storm Irene. All the people who were not affected whould help out and rebuild the damage that was done because helping others is always the right thing to do.
Although Tropical Storm Irene was only a tropical storm many people in New York believe that it was a hurricane. With all of the rain a lot of small creeks turned into raging rivers and one slip could cause you to fall in and be carried away by the raging waters. If you witness someone slip you should probably call 911 imidiatly. Someone who lived near me almost had it happen to them. Tropical Storm Irene may not have been a hurricane but a lot of people were affected. there should be more organizations to help out the people who need it. Some people think that the damage has already been done but, it hasnt for some people. Some people continue to struggle financially related to their losses.
Tropical Storm Irene caused a lot of flood damage in people's homes. During these difficult economic times many people don't have a lot of money and are still trying to recover from wet basements, lost furniture and items that can't be replaced like photo albums. Other individuals had there road washed away which prevents them from going back to work and earning th money to repay the damaged caused from this storm. Therefore, people who were not affected can help the people who were affected. Many people still need help with cleaning up. If you know someone that needs help, help them. If they need money loan them it. If you dont have any money to offer there are other ways to help them. You could help them with to clean up, you could take them some groceries or bake them something to eat, you could just sit and talk to them and let them know how much you care and that you are there for them if they need you. Remember we all need to help one another every day and what you give of yourself will come back to you when you are in need.
