There once was a contest for limericks
Whose poets had humor in their bags of tricks
The entrants were clever,
But it wasn’t open forever,
So we’re hoping “submit” gets many clicks!
The Poetry Foundation defines a limerick as “A fixed light-verse form of five generally anapestic lines rhyming AABBA.” They’re light-hearted, and many times funny. All that to say, let loose and have fun with this format!
The winner and several honorable mentions will be published in Teen Ink magazine! Plus, the overall winner will receive a $25 gift card!
