The poem “Do I Have a Voice?”  on page 54 by Kara talks about homophobia . This poem was extremely sad but powerful. I believe everyone should have a voice. People should be accepted no matter what. Who they love, identify as, or who they are doesn’t matter. It shouldn’t matter to other people. There’s so much hate in this world. If everyone was accepting of people being themselves, the world would be a better place. “So if there is a God can he forgive me for being the way he made me?” on stanza four really got to me. It expresses the amount of pain and hate that the LGBT community has to deal with. People make them feel like God doesn’t forgive them or love them, even though he made them that way. This was a very good poem. It really puts the voices of other people out there without them have to speak.
