Conformity

April 26, 2018

The purpose given since the start of man
To be the same as those who are near us
On the same playing field, no greater than
Be different and people start to fuss
We are all printers, putting words on a page
Virtually the same in every way
The same task all our lives, we slow with age
Droning the same noise from the printing tray
No page is different just in black and white
We complete the task just as we are told
Ink on paper nothing fancy or bright
So why do we conform to times of old
When those we remember print in color
Because they’re different, like no other
