On the bus leaving home to a new place
Bags prepared for the trip, food and water
Their homes like a war zone, not having space
where everyone loves both sons and daughters
The trip down seemed as short as one blink
We began our service in the morning
when I woke up all I could do was think
We travelled past danger, no forewarning
The homeless shelter needed help with food
Feeding people who watched with beating eyes
Not the best but regardless they weren't rude
Most lived hard lives, containing lows and highs
Not once did anyone complain to us
The fact we got to meet them was a plus
