"I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there." -Stephen Chobsky; Perks of Being a Wallflower.

My heart is all but broken,
waiting for you to come home.
All the words unspoken,
leave me feeling alone.

I know that something is eating you.
I can only imagine the pain.
What can I even do?
You just push me and push me insane.

I’ll put on my concerned hat
but I will keep it hidden.
I can see the marks on you at
every place its bitten.

Your spirit will go on
for, it took you at dawn.

My friend Terry Miller passed away from a metastatic brain tumor. He fought cancer for the first time at five years old and the second time at seventeen. In loving memory.
