Best friends until the end
Is what he said to me
Although I had a love for him
That he clearly could not see
We went along for many years
My secret was untold
He saw many other girls
My heart became jealous and cold
Still best of friends I could tell he thought
Although he did not know
My heart only belonged to him
And my love had only learned to grow
When he realized we were meant to be
For some reason I couldn’t stay
He didn’t know me like I thought he did
I had to run away.
