The One

She’s the one… the one, who makes her feel this way,
Anger, love, and guilt.
She’s the one, who will always say,
Things that make her feel like a rose about to wilt.
Every squabble and words made her cry
But eventually no more tears.
However the burning guilt that will always lie
In this girl, well it still sears.
From when she was unaware of the truth and so young,
Always confused about the past.
Through her teens, her heart was still being wrung,
But at least now she couldn’t… care… less. At last….
She loves her though despite the laceration
To her heart constantly without hesitation.

I had to write a memoir for my English class and decided to start it off with a poem. It was meant to describe how my mom though I love her made me feel when I was young and now sometimes.
