It's Not Getting Any Better

I crawl out of bed with so much on my mind.
Stressing out and running late I am blind,
To the struggles that are going on around me:
That poor, old man who has no family.
Selfishness gets in the way, and I hardly notice,

That this world isn’t getting any better.
We have to stand up and shout a little louder.
We can’t keep hiding (hiding) from the truth.
We have to show (show) what we can do.
I am betting (betting),
That we can do it (do it).

Friends and family, work and school,
Changing the world; since when is that cool?
I was doing my own thing,
But now I’m starting a journey,
I am wondering when we will see,

That this world isn’t getting any better.
We have to stand up and shout a little louder.
We can’t keep hiding (hiding) from the truth.
We have to show (show) what we can do.
I am betting (betting),
That we can do it (do it).

Our generation can’t sit back and relax.
We have to get into action and take it to the max.

This world isn’t getting any better.
We have to stand up and shout a little louder.
We can’t keep hiding (hiding) from the truth.
We have to show (show) what we can do.
I am betting (betting),
That we can do it (do it).

In class we had to write a poem or song about changing the world. And the "chorus" almost seems like a worship song; that inspired me.

I bet we could too, but, as you said, most of our generation is self absorbed.

It makes me so sad to see this desruction of our world.
