Tomorrow

March 28, 2018
By Anonymous

As I patiently anticipate for the opening doors of tomorrow,
I cannot help but attempt to unlock the doors of the past.
Seconds have gone to waste, minutes have gone away
Till my soul becomes overflowing with sorrow,
For I was reminded that yesterday can never recast
And that I may only dream of those moments to be displayed.

As I meekly wait for the path of tomorrow to be revealed,
I cannot help but redisplay the moments of yesterday.
Like a performance, memories commence to play in my mind,
My one possession, this body of mine, I shall no longer wield.
The actors of my soul and the stars of this display,
Are non-other than those who’ve impacted this life of mine.

And as I attempt to grasp control of this unconquerable situation,
I am reminded that although what occurred is far beyond my reach,
I can alter what is to come through my very actions.
Now before I begin to daydream about the futures formation,
I present a token of my gratitude to all who’ve made my soul rich,
For I know that the knowledge they have given me will be used in all my actions.
And although not even their knowledge cannot unlock my past,
I am sure that their knowledge will be the key to my tomorrow.
