Michael
He grew up not knowing love
The void in him began to consume
His harsh life gave him a harsh answer
His addiction kept him alive for all the wrong reasons
But I’m glad it did
My family needs him
Today he has a new addiction
One that originally sent his life spiralling
In the simplest terms he is learning to love
No,not the next hit
He has a wife now, four children
He has always been and obedient servant to his addiction But today he serves a kinder ruler The boy who grew up without love is now the man infatuated with the love of his family
Addiction is a circle in which one rarely escapes But can one addiction replace the other? I can see it in the way he talks, Walks, Hell, even the way he stands
He was broken
Addicted
Healed
And addicted again in the most wonderful way
