The Backwoods
Rangeley, Maine
What a beautiful place!
Where time seems to stop
Where everyone greets me with a smile
Green grass, green leaves, green everywhere
Nature surrounds me
Lakes, trees, unpaved roads
So little around, so much to do
Long hikes on the countless of trails
Legs start burning after a few minutes into the hike
The hills steep and treacherous
But the pain is worth it when I hear the rushing water
That sound is music to my ears
Almost to the top
Almost at a beautiful view that makes the pain worth it
Waterfall at the top
A sight no one can imagine
Take pictures, remember how wonderful nature is
Time to walk back down
It takes more time because you are less motivated
There isn’t a view waiting for you when you are done
But there’s so much more to do
You can
Go in the woods and listen to the different sounds
Chirp, crunch
Or You can
Go for a dip in the lake
(If you can handle the chilling feeling from the cold)
Watch the sunset
You won’t be disappointed
when you see the sky turning a light orange, making the night sky look bright
This town is like no other
Time stops here
Everyone is kind and polite
Enjoy the nature that engulfs you
This place will change you for the better
