Poisonous Love
The words I love you slithered out of his mouth with ease
as I stood gazing at him as if he was a chiseled masterpiece.
His silhouette shook at the thought of commitment,
while I lost myself in his eyes unaware of his intentions.
Blinded by charming words and unspoken promises,
I looked past all the accusations and stood before him.
The long paragraphs, late night excursions, and explic movements
were all I craved when we weren’t together.
He always reassured me I was what he wanted,
but in an instant I was no longer his forever.
The future that I had seen was now nothing but a memory.
I don’t love you anymore.
