Societal Flaws
Empty and broken
We stand there as life passes us by
Like a train we seem to miss every time
No chance, no feelings
Most are branded as insignificant
Real laughter seems to be a distant stranger
Only we can take the blame
For those who have become insane
Scarred by our own words and actions
Pushing each other to the limit
No one brave enough to admit
We are our own enemy
Reminisce on the times we were all free
Waiting for a distant change
But no one willing to rearrange
Some pass on without any notice
As we live in a time of pure bliss
What will satisfy our eyes
Or help us realize
Love will never be our prize
Until we learn to recognize
We are the source of the destruction
That seems to be in every corner
And as the world spins on
I wonder
Why humans often forget
That others are human too
