There is no greater bore than perfections

I see you, but you do not exist
I hear you, but your voice fades
Into silence.
I see you, my aunt
I hear your stories
I see your life.
I see that day
the day
you discovered
how to say
goodbye.
That day
when your life ended
before it began.
I hear the voice
that I never knew
that I never will know
but somehow I do.
And I can’t stop feeling
a hole from the absence
of you
A person
I never knew?
I know
you live on inside them,
and inside me.
I see you, my aunt.
I see

My Aunt Rhonda died before I was born, and I've always felt connected to her despite that. I wrote this about her, and about the way I feel about her, her life, and her passing.
