"Carpe Diem"

On the way back home I see you,

Enforces your pretty face into my blank stare you did,

Begins a pas de deux,
Of all the dead people; I dance with you,

Your smile lightens up the entire weary world,

Your crooked teeth, your sunken eyes, your molds, your thighs,
God, they are perfect through these eyes,

As I open my eyes, outside this filthy bus filled with corpses yonder-,

The clouds gently kissed the ground, passed: a terrible storm,

Right there in the moment I ponder,

The clouds shall be you and the ground could be me,

Before our blood runs cold, before our skins fed by worms,

Before they take our memories we deform,

Set off a journey dear, fulfill your bucketeer,

‘Cause you’re precious baby blue,

‘Cause I think I’m falling for you.

"Why did they make birds so delicate and fine as those sea swallows when the ocean can be so cruel? She is kind and very beautiful. But she can be so cruel and it comes so suddenly and such birds that fly, dipping and hunting, with their small sad voices are made too delicately for the sea." -Ernest Hemingway from "The Old Man and the Sea"

I really enjoyed both of the poems you have here, especially this one. I think your narrative voice and overall style is particularly unique, and although there is occasionally awkward syntax, your language is very precise and eloquent, and you are quite skilled at avoiding cliches. I also particularly enjoyed the repetition in this poem. I wish there were more to read!
