A fierce flame, crackling with life
The light that can be felt with sudden intensity
The searing flames that envelop everything

A red glare, which sends shadows dancing across the wall
A long bout, and finally its vibrant light simmers down to
a subtle glow, an echo of the the howling life that once was

A brief poem about the transient nature of human life.
