You see something, anything, and all you see is profit. Your own well being.
I see a fur coat of a rare snow leopard, and all you see
Are the thousands you could make.
I see a rich man, and all you see,
Is a way to make money off of him.
I hear a busy gas station, pollution too, and all you hear
Is a way to make millions, if not billions.
I smell a flower shop in a city, and all you smell
Is yet another way to make money.
I taste some of the greatest cakes and pizzas, and all you taste
Is still another way to make money.
I see our world dying, trees being ripped off the ground,
Tons of air pollution going up,
And all you see is a way to better yourself, sometimes at the cost of lowering others.
I think who to donate to, and still have some for me.
All you think is how to make more of this.
Your life revolves around this thing eventually,
Controlling you, possessing you, until all you can think of is this,
Loved ones are second. Hobbies are third. This is always your number one priority.
People get hurt, so what? I’m getting what I want.
As you see it in front of you, your hear races, causing you to make bad decisions,
If only you could have that. You’re only prized possession in this world.
But will it be with you everywhere? Will it be with you in Heaven? Hell?
The places you go, the things you do, say, or even think will affect your life.
Sometimes not in good ways. Will it always be there for you, or is this thing just
Like you? Is its one and only goal is to obtain all humans? Greed is a powerful and
Ancient thing, and is the cause of many things. Not always good.
Your greed for beauty caused the burning of Troy.
Your greed of money caused polar bears to die and snow leopards to almost go extinct.
Your greed caused your downfall in the end.
