A reminder of a time when we were a hero, or a buffoon.
A discoloration. A deformation.
A physical note left by our bodies.
They remind us of previous experience, or previous mistakes.
What did we do?
What should we have done?
We want to forget. We can’t.
We want a do-over. We don’t get one.
We wish they would disappear. They remain.
Our scars beckon us.

I was listening to a song about scars and I randomly became inspired. I hope this will give people a better understanding of what our scars mean to us.
