Adolescent Morning
With each dawning day brings a weary start.
She lifts her head from slumber to darkness;
Dreams scatter to the side, torn into shreds.
Unsure of what the emerging day brings
Her hollow eyes open to the morning,
Allowing the flood of reality
To taint and restrain her once innocent mind.
Swiftly she rises from within her bed.
Before a single soul awakes she's gone.
Her silent steps fall in time with music,
As she walks. The sun starts from its long sleep.
She forbids her thoughts from wandering far,
Desperate to understand how she works.
She finds her ignorance unbearable;
Her Jagged mind and disturbed thoughts pain her;
The familiar tears fall down her cheeks.
With each dawning day brings the agony.
