Brothers
You look at me, your eyes filled with hatred.
Not for me, but for my school.
I walk up to you.
You scorn me for my choice.
Your comments break through my protective shell.
I walk away.
And I cry.
You don't see it.
Don't know how it hurts.
Your words slash my heart
And I don't know what to do.
I love you like brothers,
Don't know who I'd be without you.
But the pain you inflicted is so bad,
And I am told to walk away.
I wish I could do as they say,
And take the easy way out.
But you are my brothers,
And I love you even still.
