She screamed a scream.
Walking in the room shattered her false reality.
She screamed a blood curdling scream,
and her family ran to her side.
They were as still as statues,
as she felt for a pulse, her own head pounding.
“She’s gone.” She whispered.
She squeezed her slight hands.
Caressed her pretty little head.
“My precious little girl...”
A dainty blue ribbon was lying beside the girl;
a keepsake she so childishly clung to.
It would never be the same.
