Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Your words
Are not just words to me.
They nurture me
They heal me
But they also
Keep me up at night.
Sometimes
You make me smile
And laugh
And feel happy.
But others, you tear down my dreams
And give me nightmares instead.
Your actions
Are not simple.
Your smile illuminates the moment
Your eyes dance in the sunlight with mystery.
Your touch lingers on my skin.
But your stinging words
Do not outweigh your smiles
and the nightmares you may bring with your speech
are eradicated by the beauty of your eyes
Actions speak louder than words.
