Reach

And I see you now
Sunny days have come and passed
And through the rain I've seen it all
I see the stars shine down on you
And you know I'd take you
If only I could reach
As if I ever thought I could
Well, I might have had it all
I watch the light come over you
All for the one who waits
Humble and shame
Watching every person shine
And who's to blame
When they keep on shining
And here's the one that
Never wins
And just the one that
Would bring you back, when you never left
Because I see now is not forever
I wish you could see the same, but
Forever will never be the same
When I need you now
I watch the light come over me
And I stay quiet, I stay small
You stay brilliant, you stay bold
Because never might be my forever
You just keep stealing me away
With one look, I'm trapped again
And I've never been
Such a dreamer

This poem is about reaching for something, or more specifically someone, you want deeply but may feel like you'll never reach.
