The Lover's Wait
In the waiting room filled with the unknown
You absently look and everyone wondering what had made them come
Some will mask their melancholy feeling with a light-hearted joke
Other with just sit with worry and remorse on their crying faces
For some the problem can easily be solved
Others just wait and listen to their nervous heartbeat like a drum
Hoping for good news
While the cold night drags on and the fear becomes more prominent
You take a second look around at all the faces
Of the worried people sitting as if they were sculptures
All talking, wishing, and praying
Waiting for the stone floors to collapse with news they had not wanted to hear
Or for the glass ceiling to open and release them from the torment
And to be capable of embracing their loved one
With a tear of joy in their eye
