Winter Window This work is considered exceptional by our editorial staff.

Looks out over the horizon
Grey sky outlined with pink tissue paper
Evergreen hills where the sun is slowly setting
Moon shines in the bitter black night sky
Pale white clouds whisper by
Silent bare trees, harshly outlined against
The wide blue sky like paint on a canvas
By a smooth wide brush, unblemished
Light fingers of frost dust the
Moonlight dripping down the window
Crystals enveloping the pane
Sweet little stereo, silent night, sweet silver bells
Icicle clinging, distorting the world through its eyes
Snow falling outside the window
Dreams of a quilt of winter white
Tendrils of cold air sneak in through the cracks
Winter trapped in a square of light
Window of ice, take me into your freedom
Take me to your snowy cliffs
The window
