Autumn Memories
Yellow, orange, green, and brown,
I sit and wonder as they come down.
The grass turns brown, the trees lose their leaves,
People must wear at least shirts with sleeves.
Apples, pumpkins, gourds, and squash,
Fruits and veggies you must wash.
Pies and soups, breads and stews,
Comfort foods to warm and chase the blues.
Crisp cool mornings, sunny afternoons,
Weather can change from night till morn.
Ghosts, goblins, scarecrows, and hayrides,
Black cats and zombies send chills down your sides.
Make-up and wigs, costumes and candy,
Door to door knocking with a flash light handy.
Fall in New England what a wonder to see,
The sights, the sounds, the smells, all mean home to me.
