Cherokee Pond

May 27, 2010
The Cherokee Pond sits in suffocated silence
A slimy surface of algae claims all life
The pond is left secretive and under no surveillance
Burmese pythons sense no warmth and leave
Butterflies taste the dew and flutter away
Fish and small snakes tangle
In the algae bloom' outstretched grasp
Cherokee Pond
Secretive and under no surveillance
