"Words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality." - Edgar Allan Poe

Discomfort in my eyes

Discomfort in my thighs

I feel my bones moving inside

This flesh suit isn't mine

I pick and I peal

Because I can't deal

With the way it feels

Discomfort in my mind

This flesh suit is no longer mine

Screeching inside

Nothing I have us truly mine

He took it all away

Leaving nothing but disdain

Discomfort within every bone

Discomfort even in my home

The touch of his hands

Lingering and haunting

Prodding and picking at my mind

Discomfort all around

This mound of dejection

My cries for help

Killed by rejection

Trapped in this cage

This cage of my memories

I'll never escape

From this evil synergy

Dissociating from mortality

This agony never ending

Peace of mind so close

Yet so far

He ensured it was unattainable

This tragedy growing

Overwhelming and undetainable

Pounding with the force if insanity

Raping and stealing my virginity

The author's comments:

I wrote this poem to tell my story, to tell the story I was never able to tell an individual. I wanted to take one of try many steps of coping and overcoming what has happened in the past, and for me this is one of them.
