Given to me as a Christmas gift
Made me get my Christmas wish
Biggest surprise with a drum and stick
Number of times pounded is infinite
Practiced and practiced
Until I was good
Playing every day like I rightfully should
Until one day when a crack appeared
But the sticks don’t leave they’re staying here
They remind if the good times
When I could drum and drum without any care
When I could hit each hit
And remember the feeling
Of the day I got my Christmas wish

The author's comments:

Drumming is a pretty big part of my life and I wanted to write a poem that showed that
