Fever
By Ava Yergo

A house in the summer: mistakes and memories.
‘Hottest day’ humidity hanging, humiliation hovers,
lovers’ tension smothers.
Thighs peeled like Band-Aids from the leather of a couch,
torsos heaving, morals leaving,
bare biceps and bellies brushing, bonding lips meet, chills
creep with fingers along exposed skin.
Reluctance and realness escape through open pores and mouths:
fallacy.
Friendship fades, fumbling attempts at frivolous exchanges falter.
two to one to two again
Finally - a fractured façade.

This will certify that the above work is completely original.
