Too Young, Too Soon

Too Young Too Soon
Tears of sorrow stream down my face
I wish with all my heart there was something I could do.
But you’ve been beaten down and starved
And probably scared half to death too.
You’re so young and so youthful
So forgiving and true
My dear friend I shall greatly miss you.
But what must be done shall be done but for your own good
But if I could I would take that place for you.
You probably wonder what you did wrong,
Why your master left you,
Why they treat you with harm?
My young friend know that you did nothing bad
And those who hurt you will pay dearly for it.
We cry for you, your master and me
For our love for you will be there eternally.
We hope you will be happy in heaven
And will forgive us both someday.
We love you with all our hearts
And will pray for you everyday.
Goodbye young friend…
We shall miss you GREATLY.

I agree, more like a eulogy. Not bad, though "so young and so youthful" is pretty redundant.

More like a eulogy than a poem but it works; very pretty and sorrowful.
