“Fear”
By: Ashley Walter

Have you ever felt it
Do you know what it’s like

Fear is not a petty thing
What you feel
When you see a small creature scurrying on the floor
At your feet,
Is not fear
What you feel when you stand up high
Is just a ghost
of what fear truly is

Real fear
Is a thing that can rack you body
With tremors so powerful that it shakes
The entire bed on which you lay

Real fear
Forces you jaw to clench and tighten
It makes everything crystal clear
And yet it as though you see through a haze

You cannot stop the quaking of your body
Your attempts to still your involuntary tremoring
Are completely futile
You cannot relax you muscles
No matter how you try
Opening you mouth to speak
Is near to impossible

No matter how hard you try
You cannot control it

This is just a taste
Of fear
Have you ever felt it?

"This will certify that the above work is completely original."

The metaphors in this are great- the rhythm to it and all the word choices just make it so fun to read.

It's never to late, if it weren't for the last minute many things would never get done!

This is a really great poem. I agree with you on fear being more then a small creature, yet some people say that is what they are most afraid of. Good topic on this poem and very well written.
