I'm not a poet who
Has secret meanings behind my words
Or uses impossible vocabulary
I don't try to act intelligent
My sentences don't come from the dictionary
I don't rewrite the same poem
Over and over again
Because I don't believe in perfection
I don't have any format
For my poems should be free
To roam wherever they wish
I don't have a notebook
Filled with stories and essays
There aren't any records
Of glorious things written by me
I don't compete with Shakespeare
There are tons of writers with talent
My poems don't have to be loved
They don't have to be remembered
My poems don't have to be the best

What is poetry anyway?
I don't even know the meaning of it
Am I poet
