Fading Summer
By Marisa Yunker

Summer never seems to last
Trees never remain green
Bikes are placed back in the garage
Children still want to play

Trees never remain green
The leaves fade to brown
Children still want to play
Under the beaming yellow sun

The leaves fade to brown
Nothing remains the same
Under the beaming yellow sun
The game must end

Nothing remains the same
Children start to grow like trees
The game must end
The toys are put away

Children start to grow like trees
They grow into adults
Toys are put away
By their own children

It's never to late, if it weren't for the last minute many things would never get done!
