Goes the menacing clock of time
The familiar leaves as the mysterious enters
The clock strikes one, the game has begun

A first day of kindergarten
A friend is made
A lesson is learned
A new day has begun

Tick-tock, tick-tock
The clock strikes two

A day in second grade
Children are laughing
But one is crying
The clock ticks on

Tick-tock, tick-tock
The clocks strikes three

An angry parent
Three bad grades
A brutal beating
Another hour

Tick-tock, tick-tock
The clock strikes four

A lonely child
A bloodied knife
Four cuts on the arm
A temporary relief

Tick-tock, tick-tock
The clock strikes five

A stroll in the hall
Five mean words
Five concealed tears
‘Tick-tock” says the clock

Tick-tock, tick-tock
The clock strikes six

Six pills, an overdose
A green floor
A new therapist
“Tick-tock” laughs the clock

Tick-tock, tick tock
The clock strikes seven

Darkness looms
His pain is apparent
For seven long weeks
No one helps him

Tick-tock, tick-tock
The clock strikes eight

Eight attempts
He has made so far
He thinks of another
As he sits on the car

Tick-tock, tick-tock
The clocks strikes nine

Nine long years
Since Kindergarten
Full of pain and of torment
He hasn’t forgotten

Tick-tock, tick-tock
The clock strikes ten



With a blade in his hand
And soul in ten pieces
He sets out to find
Someone in which he releases

Tick-tock, tick-tock
The clock strikes eleven

Now on the run
He’s crossed eleven states
Hoping to find a place
But the clock won’t have it

Tick-tock, tick-tock
The clock strikes twelve
The finale has begun

With the road ahead paved with more than he can endure
And the past catching up
He finds one option, one “kill switch”
He flips his own
