I sat down at the piano
With a song in my head
The notes came out fine
But the meanings gone dead
Tried to write a book
Full of wit and laughter
But the story’s old
It’s the same ever after
New page, new words
Maybe it’ll be a poem
Then I think of you
And I wonder if you’re home
Would you still listen
After I’ve done wrong
So I can tell you
You’re in the song
