Do you remember Italy?
We never went there, but our hearts
sailed over the violet hills
as we ran through the countryside,
vine leaves entwined in our hair.

Do you remember Italy?
The silent, burning sunsets
were the dawn of deep passions—
for literature, for art,
for cobbled streets and freshly baked bread, —
and, of course, for Italy.
