The Rain

In the rain
I see my pain.
What is there to gain
From something that sears my brain?
It is such a bane
Because of the way it maims.
But without the rain
What is there to keep me sane?
So I welcome the rain
Even though it makes me wane.
Otherwise I’d go insane
If it never came.
