Reflection

May 30, 2011
Applying lashes longer
They’re keeping me alive
You’re absence is destroying me
It’s shredding me inside
I don’t know how much I can take
It’s the pressure, piercing lungs
This belt is tugging violently
But I’ll wear it while I’m young
It’s so easy to look filthy rich
When functioning’s so hard
Reality is crashing
On the pieces of my heart
These virgin lips are sealing
Closing in like prison bars
My skin is tattered, wounded
But I’m proud of all my scars
If I can fake my confidence
Living lonely won’t be tough
You can see decisions flashing
Because I know I’m not enough
Pulling lashes shorter
Till I’m vulnerable and weak
No more mourning, Holly.
Secret strength is at its peak
