Love Poem from A Tuba Player

November 19, 2007
By Colleen Kochensparger, Centerville, OH

Many times I have wished
That I sit next to you
And not
Behind you.
But behind you is good enough for
Me,
I, who write stupid little love poems,
But will never have the
Courage
To deliver even
One.
And sometimes,
In my most desperate moments,
My most hopeful hours,
I have wished
That I was your
Trumpet.
So that every reluctant moment
You spend in
Band
You'd be
Kissing
Me.
