"Don't cry over someone who won't cry over you."

I never thought it would work out like this.
I never thought that you would be one of them.
One of those men so typical in our society.
One of those men who only want one thing.

You were the nicest person I knew.
Always had a smile on your face,
Arms always open for a hug.

You’re talent on stage shines through to all,
You’re style can’t be beat.
Always clean cut, dressed nicely and fun.

You play the guitar,
Enjoy video games,
And you know how to throw great parties.

You were my shoulder to cry on,
My shelter from the world.
You were the one I knew I could go to.

Now I don’t know what to do.
Looking in your eyes feels like staring into nothing but lies.

I don’t see the man I fell in love with.
I don’t see the man that I love to see smile.
I don’t see the person I thought I knew.

I see a liar.
I see a cheater.
I see someone who pretends.

I see someone who knows how to talk,
Someone who knows how to get what he wants.

I thought you were different.
I hoped you were different.
I thought you genuinely cared,
But now that I found out the truth,
My emotions I can’t bear.

I love you,
I hate you,
You make me sick, you make me smile.

I’m tired!
I can’t keep fighting…
I can’t keep going on like this.

I hope some day you’ll figure this out,
You can’t do this anymore.
I want back the person I loved,
The one with life goals in store.

I want the friend, who held me when I cried,
The friend that makes me smile.
The friend that I know,
Will stick around for a while.

Even though it hurts,
I know that I’m alive.

I will fight...
And I will be fine,
I’ll find a way to survive.

The author's comments:
This was written after a complete heart break, some things are exaggerated for artistic effect, but most of it is real, true emotion. I hope it brings hope to others out there expierencing heart break. Girls, (and boys too, but girls are usually more sensitive) You WILL get through it =]

Well I actually thought it was a very good piece. She described the emotion very well. You people need to give her a break.

I sure wish people like this "Me" would get a clue that you can't just tell yourself consciously to get over someone, and it just happens. You gotta wonder if people like this have ever been in love. And anyway, idiot, this poem is not about "getting over him" but rather disappointment that someone she thought she knew well turned out to be someone completely different. THAT is something that is TRULY hard to get over, because it erodes your sense of trust. Be strong, Jess, better days are coming I'm sure.

For your information... I am over him. Note the authors comment about it being written after the heart break. Thanks for following teen inks rules and giving constructive criticism. If you're going to call me out, how about you put up your name...

Yea, well. First off. Everyone experinces heart break. Second. A year later. And you still arent over him??? Get over him. Your first love is usually not the only one. He is not your soul mate. He is not, nor will he be the only one you had/will have feelings for. get over him. continue on with life.
