Awaiting Dawn

Belief in silence is golden,
Keeps me isolated and misunderstood by others standards.
Ignorance and stupidity are their standards,
By which they expect everyone to follow,
But I refuse to be everyone.
I wear no mask to hide the truth,
Unlike those bleached orange fluff puffs.
When I speak out, I am only silenced by their stares.
No one listens but then not many care too.
A small price I pay for my differences,
This lonely isolation.
Silence and isolation only strengthens my resolve,
They calm the torment of society surrounding me,
Still there’s the over-shadowing disgust that causes ripples in the water,
The stares and gossip sicken me.
The bliss is that their ignorance sets me free,
Free to drift through rainy nights on the calming sea.
Where alone I remain until the dawn rises,
Shinning on those who care enough to leave ignorance behind.

This piece was inspired by my frustration of how everyone expects me to be like them and not an individual. I've gotten sick of how they people preach us to be different and yet I see more of people doing the opposite.

Let my dreams guide me as far as they can, and when they'be led me as far as they can, I'll take over my own destiny and go further.

This is also one of my pieces.
