The Tyrant

Off the path of light I stray,
From the light I run away,
On the border line I sway,
The lights secrets I betray,
To the darkness of today,
In the light I’d like to stay,
To the tyrant of this day,
I truly submit.

In this world the tyrant rules,
Fooling us for simple fools,
We are but unknowing tools,
We swim in the darkest pools,
Separating church from schools,
Fighting off the church’s ghouls,
It is the light that misrules,
For it is the tyrant.

The war is not over yet,
The balance for all upset,
Moonrise is now the sunset,
Causing the faithful to fret,
Over virtues we forget,
The outcome never preset,
A game of Russian roulette,
With bullets in every chamber.

FYI the end is near,
Striking innocents with fear,
For all of those who can hear,
The end will be surly queer,
Though the reason is unclear,
I am sure it is severe,
To religion we adhere,
This will cause the end.
