This is a great book because it makes reading about politics interesting by taking Russian socialism and putting it in the setting of a farm. By using symbolism the author explains socialism and government. He also clearly defines what animals represent certain groups of people. This book shows that socialism can appear anywhere.

In this book the animals’ revolt against the humans, thinking that if they gain power there will be equal treatment. The pigs become literate, so being the smartest animal on the farm they take on the leadership role. The pigs end up outsmarting the rest of the ignorant animals and miss use their intelligence.

I recommend this book to people that like to read and learn about politics. If you enjoyed the story 1984 then you will also like Animal Farm.
