Wild Magic by Tamora Peirce

Wild Magic is a very interesting book about a girl whose family was murdered. After living with animals for a year she find work moving horses. The woman who employed her had a gift; in other words magic. Dian (the girl) began to show an interesting talent with animals and the woman took her to meet her employer...the king. On their journey they encounter a bird being chased by strange bird with human torsos and armor....

I would recommend Wild magic to anyone who enjoys an adventure in a land where lucky humans have gifts of magic and animal communicate through mind-speech and a magicians send monsters to wage war on their enemies. I really enjoyed Wild magic, it was fairly pleasant story with minimal blood death and destruction, actually there is a fair amount but no mas murder.
