Alanna: The First Adventure is an amazing kick off to the fantasy adventure series Song of the Lioness. The captivating story kept me hooked and I can't wait to read the next book.

Alanna of Trebond wants to be a knight whereas her twin brother Thom wants to be a sorcerer. When he father sends Thom to be a knight and Alanna to be a lady, she comes up with a plan. Thom will take Alanna's place in the convent to learn magic and Alanna will become Alan and take Thom's place to be a knight. After a little convincing to their servants the twins are off. Little does Alanna know that she will put up with bullies, puberty, and become friends with the Prince.

This is a fasinating read as you discovers just what destiny has planned for Alanna or the young prince Jonathan. Full of magic, fighting, and friendship.
