Written by young author, Christopher Paolini, "Eragon" is a fantasy novel about a fifteen-year-old farmboy,named Eragon, who discovers a blue stone in a forest called the Spine, which was near his home town, Carvahall.
Eragon soon finds out that the stone is really an egg, when a baby dragon hatches out of it. The dragon was named Saphira, and she chose Eragon to be her Rider.
That was when Eragon realizes that he is about to continue the feats of the legendary Dragon Riders, and kill the evil king, Galbatorix.
This book tells us about Eragon's adventures with Saphira, while practising his skills to defeat Galbatorix, and gathering many allies along the way.
