Anna Malek’s “B E Gb G B” shows of a comparison between an unsteady relationship and the flaws in her piano piece. She says of how she “falters, returning to play off key./Majors to minors, white to black.”

Malek indirectly depicts of the drifting relationship the characters have. “This could go on forever/but I know it won’t./In the distance I hear a beautiful sound/echoing through my ears/…/He leaves./He heard the other song.” Though, the presence of sadness is undetermined, the narrator is left to play. The contrast was portrayed beautifully, much like the music.
