Tell me a secret I asked him one day,
nothing but silence and a bitter glare,
I found your love in the nothing you’d say,
but I’m tired and broken, so please share
don’t keep me on the perimeter of
your long, lonely nights and what could be love

spit me a line from the bottom of life,
where the wind sucks the life out from the sky
and unfathomable love is not right
but the fear keeps us both wondering why
and how the flowers live so simply and
who solely painted my life so bland

I ask for a word now, one is suffice
show me the light in your blue beating heart
and prove to me that darkness can be nice.
I seek reassurance before we part,
lets fill the empty corners of my time
with forgiveness and trust, a daring crime

or just stay silent, a gift I must grant.
Im on my way now to places beyond,
this unforgiving love and solemn rant.
a time to tear this unbreakable bond
but alas I still seek your praise
even though I’ve faded from your harmful ways
